Recycle more, recycle right

The City operates a convenient single-stream curbside recycling roll cart collection for all City residents. Recycling is great for the economy and the environment, and we strongly encourage City residents to recycling more and to recycle right!

What is accepted for recycling in my blue roll cart?

  • Aluminum and Steel Cans (empty and rinse)
  • Plastic bottles, tubs, jugs, and jars
  • Mixed paper (newspaper, magazines, inserts, office paper, unwanted mail)
    • NOTE: DO NOT include shredded paper
  • Paperboard (e.g. shoebox, tissue boxes, cereal boxes, paper towel tubes)
  • Corrugated Cardboard/Cardboard Boxes
    • NOTE: MUST be free of all packing material, trash, Styrofoam
    • Please flatten large boxes and stack next to your recycling cart for later collection

**ALL RECYCLABLES MUST BE PLACED LOOSE IN YOUR ROLL CART; DO NOT BAG RECYCLABLES**

**DO NOT PLACE GLASS, STYROFOAM, PLASTIC BAGS, OR GARBAGE IN YOUR ROLL CART**

Depending on where you live, your recycling collection days will either be the first and third Mondays of the month or the second and fourth Mondays of the month. See the map below to find your recycling day.

2024 SOLID WASTE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE 

Regular solid waste pickup on all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas 2024.

  • Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th
    • Regular Thursday pick-up will be on Friday, November 29th
    • Regular Friday pick-up will be on Saturday, November 30th.
  • Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25th
    • Regular Wednesday pick-up will be on Thursday, December 26th
    • Regular Thursday pick-up will be on Friday, December 27th
    • Regular Friday pick-up will be on Saturday, December 28th
  • New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1st, 2025
    • Regular Wednesday pick-up will be on Thursday, January 2nd
    • Regular Thursday pick-up will be on Friday, January 3rd 
    • Regular Friday pick-up will be on Saturday, January 4th

CURBSIDE CART BEST PRACTICES

  • Make sure your cart is placed curbside by 7:30 AM on your scheduled collection day
  • Place carts 3 feet away from cars, mailboxes, & other objects
  • Paint & liquids, televisions, electronics, tires, and yard trimmings should NOT be placed in carts
  • Lids must be closed to safely service carts; if needed, additional carts are available for a fee. You may request additional carts by using the bin request form below or calling 864-596-3690
