Mobile Recreation

New dates and times coming soon.

Thanks to a $42,500 grant from the Mary Black Foundation, the City of Spartanburg is now able to bring recreation programming directly to children anywhere in the City with the mobile recreation program, Let's Play!

This program uses a mobile recreation vehicle complete with kid-friendly theme music, and cabinets overflowing with balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, arts and crafts, roller blades, and more.

City of Spartanburg Parks and Recreation staffers visit areas with limited access to play areas and other recreational amenities with the Let's Play! mobile recreation vehicle to get local youth active and excited about play.

From neighborhoods to schools, daycare centers, and churches, Let's Play! promotes active living and healthy eating by providing play equipment and healthy snacks at each stop. The goal of Let's Play! is to introduce youth to recreational activities that are fun and challenging, while encouraging children to be active now and during their entire lives.

Let's Play! is seen throughout the community promoting active play and healthy eating, establishing new places to play, and enriching current play opportunities, leading to an increased number of people leading more active lives.
