The City Attorney provides legal counsel to the City Council and City Manager, as well as to the City's departments, boards, and commissions. The City Attorney also oversees the prosecution of cases in Municipal Court, including retaining outside counsel when needed.
In addition, the City Attorney handles contract negotiations, crafts and reviews draft ordinances, and resolutions, and interprets code enforcement issues.
